Competition: Best Environment and Sustainability Paper or Video in collaboration with CITVN is organising a competition on the theme "Sustainability, Ethics and Action: What Can We Do?".

Participants are invited to answer the question "Sustainability, Ethics and Action: What Can We Do?" using examples of good practice in the form either of an essay or of a video. They should be if possible specific and contextual. Participants that show evidence of research in other countries across the globe are welcome.


University students (bachelor, master, doctoral) and young professionals up to the age of 30 years are invited to submit their contributions.

Submission process and deadlines

Participants are invited to submit an essay and/or a video in electronic form by email by 1 October 2018.

  • Language: It is asked that contributions be submitted in English.
Essay Video
Topic: Sustainability, Ethics and Action: What Can We Do? Topic: Sustainability, Ethics and Action: What Can We Do?
Format: Word or PDF Format: AVI, FLV, WMV, MP4 or MOV
Length: 3,000 - 5,000 words Length: no more than 5 minutes
A minimum of 3 articles from Library should be quoted  


The participans have to send their essay and/or video by email (for large files a link to an online document sharing platform would be fine ) to along with a half-page CV about yourself

Selection and Awards
The contributions will be judged by an international panel including experts on sustainability:
  • The best 3 essays will be published in an international book and each of the three winners in this category will receive USD 100.- in cash.
  • The best 3 videos will be uploaded onto the competition website and each winner in this category will receive USD 100.- in cash.

Webcast on Sustainability, Ethics and Action: What Can We Do? and CITVN invites the participants and everyone to participate in this webcast series and to engage in the current discussion on what can be done to prevent the destruction of ecosystems that impact both human and non-human beings.
Dates: The webcast takes place every Tuesday from 12:00 to 14:00 EST.
