Globethics.net joining Global Ethics Day 2016
Media Release
19 October 2016
"Ethics matter because it is the foundation for right judgement, for behaviour and for values. Ethics give background to conducts that are acceptable in human society. Ethics unite us", Prof. Dr Obiora Ike, Globethics.net Executive Director.

On Wednesday 19 October, the Globethics.net team and network are participating together with around 70 organisations worldwide to support the third edition of the Global Ethics Day.
The theme this year is "Ethics Matter". We took this opportunity to ask our staff and our participants worldwide: "Why do ethics matter to you?".
Looking at the various answers, it is obvious that many are starving for want of fairness, justice, values and guidance. This is why our vision to work towards "a world where people and especially leaders act according to ethical values and thus contribute to achieving the sustainable development goals" makes complete sense. We exist because we believe that ethics matter to us as individuals, institutions and countries to make the world more just and fairer. This is why we are proud to join in the events and initiatives marking Global Ethics Day 2016.
Global Ethics Day is an initiative of the Carnegie Council. Their aim is to provide an opportunity for institutions and individuals around the world to hold events exploring the meaning and impact of ethics in international affairs.
