When is the pre-conference period and what will happen during that time?

How has the online conference been designed?
This digital conference is designed for maximum participation of participants, with a pre-conference period from 17-24 June leading up to the 3-hour conference on 25 June 2020. It is also designed as a step in an ongoing process that will continue post-conference in order to create impact in our institutions and communities in the teaching and thinking around pressing ethical questions.
The four thematic tracks for the conference are:

- Track 2: Bridging the Gaps: Ethical Foundations of Online Teaching and Learning Pedagogies
- Track 3: Online Education for a Sustainable Future: Quality and Ethical Standards in Higher Education

What is an online conference?
An online conference or webinar is a presentation to a larger group, where there are opportunities for audience participation hosted entirely over the Internet. It allows attendees to access live and hear presentations from their computers and other devices. Attendees participate through an online conference platform designed specifically for the virtual conference. The site is where you will watch conference presentations and participate with questions and comments in real time.
What are the technical requirements needed to participate?
To participate, you need an Internet connection and web browser. For the best viewing experience, we recommend that you join the conference using a supported internet browser, which includes Google Chrome, Firefox, and Safari. Internet Explorer is not recommended as some functions, such as chat, are not fully supported. What happens once I register?
Once you register, you will receive an email with detailed instructions on how to connect to the conference and messages with information and links to take part in the pre-conference programme activities.

Will I have access to the recordings and materials?
Some of the conference sessions will be recorded and posted on the Globethics.net YouTube channel, and links to the videos will be made available on the conference web page after the event to view at your convenience.
How much do I need to pay to register for the online conference?
The online conference and the pre-conference programme are free of charge. You only need to register and follow the instructions that you will receive to access the online programmes.
Is there funding available to participate in the conference?
Funding is not available as the conference is free of cost and does not require any travel expenses. Participants will be able to access the conference online from anywhere in the world.
