Globethics.net supports Global Leadership project
The World Academy of Art & Science (WAAS) together with the United Nation Office in Geneva (UNOG) are conducting a survey of stakeholders around the world on global leadership. The aim is to elicit ideas and experiences related to innovative strategies and active principles to accelerate the emergence of dynamic leadership for successful implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The findings of the survey will provide research material and content for the conference to be organised at the UN Palais des Nations in Geneva (Switzerland), on 27-28 October 2020 and for the final report to the United Nations.
In preparation for the conference in October, some workgroups have been established to prepare ideas and strategies. These groups will cover a wide range of issues including peace and disarmament, global governance, democracy and human rights, energy and environment, education, wellbeing and welfare, science and technology, and economy, finance and employment.
Having responsibility as one of its values, Globethics.net has worked since its inception to promote and support responsible leadership, through mentoring of individuals, companies and organisations, publications, conferences, and online e-learning resources and modules. For this reason, Globethics.net is joining the call to individuals and organisations to take part in the survey, sharing its experiences and ideas on responsible leadership and how the responsible use of power is a crucial factor in good governance and human life in dignity in all sectors of society, and will take the opportunity to join the workgroups and contribute in particular to the discussion on the role of academia and education to develop values-driven leadership.
UNOG and WAAS has opened this consultation to UN organisations, member states, business, scientific research and educational institutions, the arts, civil society and youth organisations.
