Abstract:
This publication focuses on the research question: “What can the potential role of Christian worship in the Great Lakes region be to promote reconciliation and peace and healing after social and ethnic violence and conflicts?” The answer this book proposes is that a reconstructed Pentecostal Worship will significantly contribute to the process of reconciliation, peace-making, and healing of the ethnic groups in the Great Lakes region. The study theorises a Pentecostal practical theology backed in the theologies of reconstruction, politics and reconciliation. Using an empirical approach, this book draws on the spiritual, cultural, demographical and sociological potentials at the disposal of Pentecostal leaders to promote a reconstructed Pentecostal worship. It envisions a new praxis of spiritual potentials like prophecy, testimony, glossolalia, and emotional praising as opportunities to reconcile and heal people.

Abstract:

Abstract:
This publication articulated in three parts, and twelve chapters endeavours to engage with the complex negative emotions and consequent phenomenon of self-deceit, radicalisation and extremism. First part: Emotions as Lines of Demarcation or Guidelines to Our Self. The Psychodynamic Surrounding of our Intentional Self; second part: Case Studies of Some Concrete Societal Encapsulations of the Negative Passions; and third part: Resisting the Colonisation of Tyrannical Affections. Possible Paths of Mitigating Radicalisation and Extremism. What kind of educational responses can be given to extremist claims of territory, identity, resources, power, and interpretations? How can a dialogue on unifying ethical principles and values aid in developing common grounds for preventing radical and extremist excesses? With authors from three continents, this publication endeavours to not only ask the uncomfortable questions with regard to the exteriorisation of human emotive predispositions and inclinations to ostracize, stigmatise and discriminate. The exit door from the extreme is also clearly presented, through four contributions, notably the interplay of Charvaka philosophy, Sikh wisdom on balanced forms of engagement with strong emotions.

Abstract:
In this book, the Conference of European Churches endeavours to look at the phenomenon of ‘populism’ from different angles and perspectives and shine a light on its links to religion and religious actors. It wants to offer its Member Churches and partners information about and arguments against the populist temptation. It also wants to highlight and draw attention to the many ways in which religious communities are already part of a wider alliance to combat the populist threat. The Conference of European Churches stands firmly in sharing and fostering the European dream of freedom and equality, and dignity for all and everyone.

Abstract:
Cultural Goods have the dual nature of being related to both culture and economy. The WTO considers the trade aspects and UNESCO gives value to the cultural aspects of cultural goods. Therefore, there are interactions between the provisions, institutions and practices of the WTO Agreement and UNESCO CDCE on trade in cultural goods. This book examines potential conflicts between the two agreements. In doing so we are proposing three routes to enhance legal coherence between them: propose an improved interpretation of the instruments; harmonise through hard law; and foster mutual supportiveness through soft law.

Abstract:
Catechism is often perceived as the teaching of old-fashioned doctrines of faith or an authoritarian list of what religious leaders force us to believe. This catechism is a survival package of food called faith. It is fresh water from the source for the daily path of life and for orientation in decision-making. These four volumes of Chinese Catechisms transform the classical core texts of the Christian faith into today's living: the Creed (Vol. 1), the Lord's Prayer (Vol. 2), the Ten Commandments (Vol. 3), and the Liturgy as celebration of Life (Vol. 4). The author You Bin from Beijing offers it from a Chinese perspective as a contribution to intercultural theology. It is a gift to world Christianity and humanity. It is not a Lutheran, Reformed, Catholic, or Anglican Catechism; it is a post-denominational window for living. In this volume 4, the Lord's Prayer is interpreted from a Chinese background and wisdom. Its genius lies in its innovative synthesis of, on the one hand, the liturgy rooted in the ancient rites and traditions of China and, on the other, the ancient traditions of the Church in an ecumenical spirit.

Abstract:

Abstract:
This volume provides unique and profound insights from within educational institutions in diverse regions of the world on how ‘learning outside’ and ‘learning inside’ can be holistically integrated, so that the sustainable development agenda does not remain static and programmatic, but a creative and permeable framework. The shared hope across the thirteen chapters, which constitute complete original essays on the theme, is to develop meaningful, interdisciplinary curricula and research projects which serve the human community as a whole. The aim of the editors is directed towards a similar United Nations’ valuable ideal: to advance knowledge in respect of the earth and the future generations who will inherit it.
