Abstract:
In the past decade the number of Sovereign Wealth Funds (SWFs) has increased substantially. This development stands to act as a positive impact for posterity. However, the increase of SWFs is gaining much attention and raises concerns about the way in which these funds operate in the world of finance and on the global market. The study shows that the credibility of the Sovereign Wealth Funds would be strengthened with additional ethical standards.

Abstract:
The need for global values in a globalised world is combined with the need for contextual identity. New nationalisms, protectionisms and fundamentalisms are mixed with a globalised pluralistic relativism. Are global values threatened by particular values? Find answers within the 32 articles of this book. In each of the articles the authors, who are all in one way or another linked to Globethics.net, writing from one of four continents, focus and develop on a particular value or virtue in a specific geographic, cultural or religious context. Many of them also give an input to the understanding of the value-basis of the UN-Sustainable Development Goals SDGs and give orientation for "values-driven leadership", a key vision and mission of Globethics.net.

Abstract:
The Global Ecumenical Theological Institute provided a unique opportunity for a new generation of ecumenical leaders from across the globe to engage with each other and with the themes presented at the World Council of Churches (WCC) Assembly in Busan (South Korea). These papers in which the participants reflect their experience show both this engagement and the diversity of their contexts. The papers deal with a variety of themes such as: pilgrimage, Asian Christology, food insecurity, just peace and the shift of the center of gravity of Christianity to the Global South. The collection of these papers provides significant insights into the challenges faced by the ecumenical movement and the prospects for its future. More particularly they articulate the perspective of a new generation of leaders in the ecumenical movement whose voice needs to be heard.

Abstract:

"Sustainable Development" is the goal 2015-2030 of the global community of states, adopted by the United Nations. This book shows how ecology, economy and ethics are all needed to reach these goals. Understanding a concept like ‘sustainability' requires an understanding not only of what we are seeking to ‘sustain', but also how man's activities and needs are implicated in and can threaten the future of these biological systems. The articles in this book come from one of the key countries of the world, India, whose population represents almost 20% of the world's population. Questions surrounding economic development and environmental sustainability are fundamental to understanding the country's future, and how it will tackle difficult issues, like the eradication of poverty.
