About South America

In April 2014, launched its programme in South America. Deivit Montealgre, former Programme Executive, established and developed the South American network. Prior to being appointed as Programme Exectuive, Deivit worked with as a library submitter and reviewer since 2012.

Maria Eugenia Barroso is now the acting Programme Exectuive for South America, and is in charge of developing all of our South American programs on ethics in higher education. She is responsible for the development and implementation of strategy, as well as a portfolio of projects to embed ethics in higher education in the South America region. She leads and manages the South America Regional Programme office, and also oversees the negotiation of cooperation agreements with higher education institutions,identifying local initiatives regarding ethics and applied ethics. She contributes to the production and translation of publications and multimedia materials in Spanish and Portuguese, to ensure adaptbility to the region. As Programme Exectuive, she also develops regional conferences, workshops and events to empower university authorities, teachers and staff in higher education and students through training. In collaboration with the Academy and Library, she also identifies courses and resources that can be integrated in Spanish and Portuguese to develop e-learning within the region.
