Abstract:

Abstract:
Religious Studies in Indonesia as a full-fledged discipline has a long precedence, at least since 1970s, but found its momentum after the reformation of 1998. The establishment of CRCS (Centre for Religion and Cross-cultural Studies) in 2000, and the Indonesian Consortium for Religious Studies (ICRS) in 2006 marked a significant shift of the discipline. The two institutions provided Master and Doctoral program and researches on Religious Studies. In commemoration to the tenth anniversary of ICRS in 2016, eight alumni contributed part of their research project in the present volume, in order to provide a glimpse of the shift and issues addressed in the discipline at the present day Indonesia. One contribution from the Philippines emphasised further the dynamic of the studies in the region.

Abstract:
Church Related Organizations (CROs) contribute largely to social and economic development. But many of them in developing countries are today facing a financial crisis due to many years of dependency on foreign donations for their diaconal work and as donor support declines. This empirical doctoral thesis in Business Management analyses key determinants for financial sustainability of CROs in Kenya. Key factors for financial sustainability are asset management, donor diversification, own income generation and the donor relations. The book is relevant for Board and management of CROs and other civil society organisations CSOs, for finance officers, for donors as well for students in business management.

Abstract:
The demand for a better power control and accountability in the Indian Christian Churches underlines the issue of transforming traditional leadership models. The Church of South India (CSI) is a unique church since it is the pioneer of a united and uniting church since 1947, uniting the Anglican, Methodist, Presbyterian and Congregationalist denominations of the missionary churches. With over 4 million members, it is a powerful church even though Christians in India represent a small minority. The process of a constitutional reform is currently debated to change the character of this church from a united to an episcopal church with an accumulation of power in the role of the moderator. The controversy about this reform is linked to ongoing criticisms about corruption in many of the CSI-related institutions. On this background, church governance becomes a hot issue of power control and accountability, and above all, of the faithfulness to the Gospel of Jesus Christ and the credibility of the community of believers.

Abstract:
This work represents, in the first place, an effort of detailed and synthetic analysis regarding the state of the question and the interpretation of the Theological Education in Latin America, and secondly, some proposals of consultancies in the fields of evaluation, planning and research. to respond to the challenges and limitations detected. This material is, in turn, a systematization of the more than seven years of work of Pedagogical and Theological Services (SPT) accompanying, training and advising various educational institutions in the continent. This book, unique in its subject, is an indispensable tool for an evaluation and a rethinking of the Latin American educational theological task, especially from the challenges of its pedagogical framework.

Abstract:
The goal of this thesis is to investigate the role of Christian churches and the government in the fight against injustice and the eradication of poverty. In the first two Chapters, an overview of the concept of justice is proposed in both the New and Old Testaments, in the light of the challenge for the churches. Chapter three concentrates on an in-depth analysis of the issues surrounding poverty and its causes. The role played by international organisations with regard to the eradication of poverty in developing countries, and especially in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), is questioned, while an analysis of the impact of industrialisation and globalisation on developing countries is carried out. Chapter four discusses the theological concept of poverty. The aim of this discussion is to develop theological ethics that can be applied by the churches in their struggle against poverty. The last Chapters tackeles poverty in DRC: plausible explanations are given for why some people live in extreme poverty and not others.

Abstract:
The author shows that bad mannered young people are not only punished by caning, but are given manual work as punishment. The consequence of this practice is that some people grow up believing that work is the punishment for wrong doers, which results in their hating it. The idea that work results in benefits to the one doing it seems trivial but, as a result of a wrong attitude, the value that comes from regarding work as part of human joy can easily been turned into resentment. Integrating faith with work among the Christians of the Anglican Church of the Province of Uganda comes as a response to possible transvaluation of values during the 21st century, when work becomes so important in terms of domestic consumption and national growth. This publication points out the positive values of work and how they can be recovered through biblical teaching.
