Media Release - Globethics Publications releases its 100th book

In April 2016, launched the book, "Identités territoriales et conflits dans la province du Sud-Kivu, R.D. Congo" by Bosco Muchukiwa, the 100th publication in its collection.
Globethics Publications is the publishing house of the global ethics network It publishes scholarly works on applied ethics and related fields such as philosophy, theology, social sciences and law. The books are available online for free and in print for sale via Amazon websites. As of mid-April 2016, a total number of 631,703 soft copies of Globethics publications have been downloaded from the dedicated web section.
The first publication "Responsible Leadership: Global and Contextual Ethical Perspectives" edited by Jesse Mugambi and Christoph Stückelberger was released in 2007. In total, 88 authors from all regions of the world have published their books and 78 of these books have been written by authors from the global South.
Globethics Publications comprises 10 series. Authors can submit their manuscript online. The texts are reviewed and approved by special committees. Some of these books are translated into different languages. Executive Director Christoph Stückelberger says, "The concept since the beginning of Globethics Publications is to provide books for and from developing countries that are easily accessible online for free and at affordable prices in print. We aim to contribute to fairer access to knowledge on ethics and give the opportunity for academic voices to be heard that would otherwise not be".
As a publishing house, is committed to editing high quality books accessible to a wide audience.

Les territoires de Fizi, de Kalehe et d'Uvira sont des foyers de conflits au Sud-Kivu (R.D. Congo); ils ont racines dans le processus d'organisation de l'espace politique à l'époque coloniale. La reconfiguration de l'espace a produit des nouvelles entités territoriales et administratives (les chefferies agrandies, les secteurs et les territoires) qui sont des réalités sociologiques et politiques. La méconnaissance des différences entre le territoire ethnique et étatique et entre peuples autochtones et allochtones est un adjuvant de conflits. Quelques pistes susceptibles d'orienter des actions pour la paix sociale sont exposées; elles passent par l'exigence éthique préalable d'une reconnaissance réciproque des organisations territoriales, de l'histoire des peuples et d'une prise en considération des normes de droit.
