Benevolent and Toxic Management
Day 2, Lab 11. "New Management Models" workshop
Organizations around the world are now facing a set of challenges that lay outside the performance envelope of our old management model. The biggest constraint is an old management model that empowers a few but disempowers many.
When employees have constrains, such as time pressures, unrealistic goals, fear… that effects in loss of self-esteem, negative emotions and no trust, Philippe Laurent, UAS Professor an Honorary Dean, supposes that our future is in Management Benevolence. What it is? Benevolence is the desire to help someone or a feeling of goodwill toward others. It could induce healthy human environment, praise and recognition, participation in implementing decisions in every organization.
