The 30 chapters of this book form a panorama across various disciplines on five key themes integrating education or research ethics as research ethics and 1) administration, 2) business/finance, 3) education, 4) environment, 5) justice and law. This book aims at six important conceptual tools developed by philosophers. The author develops each particular view in a chapter, hoping to constitute at the end a concise, interesting and easily readable whole. These concepts are: 1. Following the development of Globethics.net's new Strategy, Vision and Mission, the Globethics.net International Conference 2018 came as an honest contribution to the urgent search for solutions to a world noticeably and without doubt in disarray, as problems continue to mount. ‘How can we translate and make ethics practically present and relevant in the classroom and lives of students, teachers and professionals who emerge from higher education institutions?' More than 100 teachers, policy makers, research fellows, vice-chancellors, ethics and scientific institutions, consultants, NGOs, IGOs and other stakeholders gathered from all over the world during three days to answer this question. The conference took place on 4–6 June 2018 at the Château de Bossey in the county of Vaud, Switzerland. This book is structured into two parts: the first is composed of discussions and ethical puzzles meant to bring breakthrough insights from the Globethics.net International Conference on ethics in higher education; the second part features selected papers that disclose the conference proceedings.

This study presents a critical examination of holiness as wholeness – ethical implications towards an inclusive understanding of the HIV/AIDS crisis in Kenya. The understanding of holiness and its interpretation has contributed to the stigmatisation of those infected and affected by HIV and AIDS. The study calls for a theologically based re-interpretation of holiness, firstly, by evaluating and interpreting a Pentecostals understanding of HIV and AIDS and its effects on stigma and discrimination; secondly, it aims to assess how the doctrine of holiness as wholeness is challenged by the impact of HIV and AIDS in the Redeemed Gospel Church (RGC), a concrete Pentecostal church in East Africa; and thirdly, it aims to propose a new approach to the doctrine of holiness as wholeness, which could be applied in the Pentecostal African context globally.

Als Ethiker, der sich seit über 40 Jahren mit Fragen ethischer Geldanlagen befasst und seit über 30 Jahren als Diakon in seiner Gemeinde tätig ist, träumt Johannes Hoffmann von einer solidarischen Kirche. Ausgangspunkt sind die Finanzskandale der Kirche in Rom und in Deutschland. Diese greift er in einer diffenrenzierten Analyse auf und macht methodische und inhaltliche Vorschläge für eine dem Gemeinwohl dienende solidarische Kirche, die der Maxime des Evangeliums folgt: „Die Armen sind die ersten Adressaten des Evangeliums." Daraus resultiert für ihn angesichts schwindender Priesterzahlen und zahlreicher Kirchenaustritte von Gläubigen eine Entwicklung in Gemeinden und diözesanen Strukturen, in denen Frauen und Mäner auf Augenhöhe mit Priestern und Bischöfen über ihre gemeinsame Verantwortung für die Weitergabe der Botschaft Jesu miteinander kommunizieren und arbeiten.

Il libro raccoglie i risultati del progetto Diaspore interculturali e democrazie promosso dalla Cattedra UNESCO Diritti dell'uomo ed etica della cooperazione internazionale dell'Università di Bergamo, l'Observatoire de la diversité et des droits culturels di Friburgo (Svizzera), l'Associazione Vittorino Chizzolini cooperazione internazionale ONLUS (Bergamo), la Cooperativa Sociale Ruah ONLUS (Bergamo), l'Ufficio Migranti Diocesi (Bergamo). Il progetto è partito da una duplice constatazione: da un lato la difficoltà di conciliare l'universalità dei diritti dell'uomo e il rispetto delle diversità culturali e dall'altro il deficit democratico che caratterizza le relazioni internazionali e transnazionali. Le diaspore permettono, al tempo stesso, la dispersione e la riunificazione di persone che, attraverso le proprie organizzazioni e associazioni, costituiscono degli straordinari laboratori per promuovere e sperimentare forme di partecipazione democratica a livello transnazionale. Il lavoro di ricerca ha raccolto racconti di vita e storie di diaspora di persone con vissuti migratori diversi che sono stati analizzati con il metodo Paideia.
