Members of the team welcome the incoming Executive Director, Prof. Dr Fadi Daou [bottom left corner] is very pleased to announce that the Board of Foundation has elected a new Executive Director: Prof. Dr Fadi Daou, who will be taking up the role full-time in January 2023. Prof. Dr Daou was warmly welcomed by the team today, August 29 2022, in an online meeting [see photo above], following an introduction by President and Founder Prof. Dr Christoph Stückelberger.

Dear Registered Participants, Volunteers and Stakeholders

It is my honour and pleasure to inform you that the Board of Foundation has unanimously appointed Prof. Dr Fadi Daou as the new Executive Director of as of 1 January 2023. He succeeds Prof. Dr Obiora Ike, who has served as Executive Director since 2016 and who will retire and return to Nigeria early in 2023. We are grateful that Dr Ike will continue to serve as a Board member of as of 1 January 2023 following his election by the Board of Foundation.

Fadi DaouProf. Dr Fadi Daou (Lebanese and French citizen, based in Geneva, Switzerland) has an academic, policy-making and social entrepreneurship background. He is a professor of the geopolitics of religions, with extensive research and publication activity. Since 2021, he has been working on a research project at the University of Geneva. He has also contributed to the foundation of many civil society organisations, and was until 2020 the CEO of Adyan Foundation, working for diversity management and peacebuilding. He has as well contributed to policy dialogues and mediations in sensitive contexts. He also provides consulting services to governments and international organisations on strategic management and policy-making in the fields of peace, pluralism, and social cohesion. In 2020, he received the Elevate Prize for Global thinkers and change-makers.

Prof. Dr Fadi Daou expresses his vision on the role of ethics today: “Ethics is for the World as the gold is for the broken pottery in the Kintsugi (translates as “golden joinery”) art. It makes out of our fragilities a flourishing united humanity”.

We extend a very warm welcome to Prof. Dr Fadi Daou! The Board of Foundation is convinced that with him a careful continuity and forward-looking innovation of our global ethics network is possible. He will start on 15 September 2022 at 50 per cent as Executive Director-elect for the handover with the current Executive Director Dr Ike, before taking over full time on 1 January 2023.
