BEN-Africa 16th Annual Conference

The Business Ethics Network of Africa (BEN-Africa) will be hosting its 16th annual conference on November 9 and 10 in Stellenbosch, Cape Town, South Africa. The conference theme will be "Ethics & Energy".

We are now confronted with the challanges surrounding climate change, trade-offs between development and sustainability, alternative fuels and green economies, which all make Ethics & Energy a very pertinent topic.

The African continent is loaded with potential, but it needs to harnessed and well governed in order to produce the sustainable prosperity that our societies are in need of.

The conference aims to strengthen the commitment and competence of Africans to do business with moral integrity. Interdisciplinary and multi-stakeholder approaches to governance, ethics and sustainable development issues on the continent will be encouraged. The programme will include thought leadership, presentations on scholarly research, cultural immersion and networking opportunities. It will also include the announcement of the recipient of BEN-Africa's esteemed Order of the Baobab Award for 2017.

Guest speakers will include Pravin Gordhan, South African Politician and former Minister of Finance, and Bonang Mohale, CEO of Business Leadership South Africa (BLSA).
