Climate change requires globally concerted initiatives that cannot be motivated by direct practical self-interest and economic incentives alone.
The aim of this conference is to compare conceptions of ecological responsibility across cultures, and to explore the role of intercultural value studies for the development, communication, and practical implementation of new models of future-oriented and collective responsibility.
GDC09 is the first of a series of five biannual international interdisciplinary conferences presenting and promoting intercultural dialogue on values (including religious values), as a means of proactive conflict mitigation and social innovation. GDC09 is an integrated four-track meeting for researchers, journalists, educators, and business representatives.
