Media Release - Ethics in Higher Education: Cooperation Agreement between Globethics.net Foundation (GE) and the University of Nigeria (UNN)

The University of Nigeria and the Globethics.net Foundation, based in Geneva, signed in Geneva on 29 March 2016 a Cooperation Agreement. The focus is on promoting ethics in higher education.
Prof. Dr Dr h.c. Christoph Stückelberger, Executive Director and Founder of the Globethics.net Foundation, Prof. Ozumba Benjamin Chukwuma, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Nigeria, Dr Ani Casimir, Director Strategic Contacts and Publications of the UNN and Prof. Kenneth Oforkansi, Director Research of the UNN, met in Geneva, Switzerland, to officially sign the partnership agreement between Globethics.net and the UNN on Tuesday 29 March 2016. The aim of this partnership is to create synergies and to strengthen the implementation of the objectives of the respective organisations.
Both parties agree to cooperate in areas such as promoting ethics in higher education, sharing content for the Globethics.net Online Library, contributing to each other's networks of experts, developing online publications together with Nigerian scholars and online courses on ethics.
"Ethics in higher education is a great need around the world. It is encouraging that the University of Nigeria is not only one of the leading universities in Africa in scientific terms, but wants to become a leader in ethics" says Christoph Stückelberger.
The UNN is one of the main partners of the Global Ethics Forum 2016 (www.globalethicsforum.org), which focuses this year on ethics in higher education. This event will be held from 23-25 June 2016 in Geneva, Switzerland.
