Media Release: We aim for a fully ecumenical, global and sustainable online theological library

The GlobeTheoLib Consortium 2016 took place on 9-10 September in Geneva, Switzerland, five years subsequent to the launch of the Global Digital Library on Theology and Ecumenism. Twenty participants representing Christian World Communions, Regional Ecumenical Organisations, theological education networks and library associations and mission agencies attended the meeting and approving the following:
GlobeTheoLib 2017-2020 strategy
This strategy aligns with the Globethics.net 2016-2020 strategy and the World Council of Churches' Ecumenical Theological Education (ETE) programme. The new strategy aims at developing GlobeTheoLib "fully ecumenical, global and sustainable", for instance by enlarging its membership to all Christian families, including Catholic, Evangelical and Pentecostal churches and/or organisations.

Consortium agreement
GlobeTheoLib adopted an amendment to the Consortium agreement, regarding the Project Leadership, which is now composed only of a representative of Globethics.net Foundation (the Executive Director) and the World Council of Churches (Programme Executive for Ecumenical Theological Education), with the Programme Executive Online Library of Globethics.net serving as Secretary.
