Abstract:
Catechism is often perceived as the teaching of old-fashioned doctrines of faith or an authoritarian list of what religious leaders force us to believe. This catechism is a survival package of food called faith. It is fresh water from the source for the daily path of life and for orientation in decision-making. These four volumes of Chinese Catechisms transform the classical core texts of the Christian faith into today's living: the Creed (Vol. 1), the Lord's Prayer (Vol. 2), the Ten Commandments (Vol. 3), and the Liturgy as celebration of Life (Vol. 4). The author You Bin from Beijing offers it from a Chinese perspective as a contribution to intercultural theology. It is a gift to world Christianity and humanity. It is not a Lutheran, Reformed, Catholic, or Anglican Catechism; it is a post-denominational window for living. In this volume 4, the Lord's Prayer is interpreted from a Chinese background and wisdom. Its genius lies in its innovative synthesis of, on the one hand, the liturgy rooted in the ancient rites and traditions of China and, on the other, the ancient traditions of the Church in an ecumenical spirit.

Abstract:

Abstract:
This volume provides unique and profound insights from within educational institutions in diverse regions of the world on how ‘learning outside’ and ‘learning inside’ can be holistically integrated, so that the sustainable development agenda does not remain static and programmatic, but a creative and permeable framework. The shared hope across the thirteen chapters, which constitute complete original essays on the theme, is to develop meaningful, interdisciplinary curricula and research projects which serve the human community as a whole. The aim of the editors is directed towards a similar United Nations’ valuable ideal: to advance knowledge in respect of the earth and the future generations who will inherit it.

Abstract:

The urgency of doing complements the urgency of knowing. Urgency here is not the inconsequential injunction of irrational immediacy. It arises in various contexts for good reasons, when there is a threat to the human existence and harms to others. Today, our knowledge based civilization is at risk both by new production models of knowledge and by the shamelessness of knowledge delinquents, exposing the greatest number to important risks. Swiftly, the editors respond to the diagnostic by setting up a reference tool for academic integrity. Across multiple dialogues between the twenty-five chapters and five major themes, the ethical response shapes pragmatic horizons for action, on a range of disciplinary competencies: from science to international diplomacy. An interdisciplinary work indispensable for teachers, students, university researchers and administrators.

Abstract:

Abstract:
Data is the magic word of the 21st century. As oil in the 20th century and electricity in the 19th century: For citizens, data means support in daily life in almost all activities, from watch to laptop, from kitchen to car, from mobile phone to politics. For business and politics, data means power, dominance, winning the race. Data can be used for good and bad, for services and hacking, for medicine and arms race.
How can we build trust in this complex and ambiguous data world? How can digital technologies serve humanity? The 45 articles in this book represent a broad range of ethical reflections and recommendations in eight sections: a) Values, Trust and Law, b) AI, Robots and Humans, c) Health and Neuroscience, d) Religions for Digital Justice, e) Farming, Business, Finance, f) Security, War, Peace, g) Data Governance, Geopolitics, h) Media, Education, Communication. The authors and institutions come from all continents.
The book serves as reading material for teachers, students, policy makers, politicians, business, hospitals, NGOs and religious organisations alike. It is an invitation for dialogue, debate and building trust! The book is a continuation of the volume “Cyber Ethics 4.0” published in 2018 by the same editors.
