Index Theologicus
Over 1.7 million records from the "Index Theologicus" (the International Bibliography of Theology and Religious Studies, IxTheo for short), a free and open access service of the University of Tübingen, have been integrated into the Library thanks to a new cooperation between and the University Library of Tübingen.
IxTheo, a major source for religious studies consisting of references from theology and religious studies periodicals, monographs, book reviews, and conference proceedings, is available on Library. While the majority of the records reference works in German (nearly 870,000 records), records are also available in other languages with over 400,000 in English, over 109,000 in French, more than 91,000 in Italian and nearly 48,000 in Spanish. Nearly 200,000 records are in many other languages.
IxTheo is developed and maintained under the responsibility of the University Library as well as of the Evangelisch-Theologische Fakultät (the Protestant Faculty of Theology) and the Katholisch-Theologische Fakultät (the Catholic Faculty of Theology) of the University of Tübingen. The IxTheo data will be updated in the Library regularly every six months.
