In Rwanda and East Congo, two Trainings on Church Asset Management for church leaders was held by Globethics.net on 12-15 December 2017.

Churches in Africa run thousands of institutions, including schools, universities, hospitals, health centers and development programmes. They also own large assets of land. How can they increase the revenue from their assets in order to be more self-dependent and self-sustaining? How can they innovate and improve  entrepreneurial professionalism in cooperation with potential investors? How can they reduce corruption and nepotism and increase financial transparency? What is the biblical faith-basis of integrity and good stewardship in managing resources?

The above questions set the agenda during the two trainings in Butare/Rwanda (12 - 13 December 2017) and Bukavu-South Kivu in DR Congo (14 - 15 December 2017). Among those participating in the trainings included 60 heads of church finance in Rwanda and 90 heads of churches and heads of church finance in DR Congo. The participants developed concrete action plans for their churches and related institutions.

The workshops were facilitated by the Globethics.net President, Christoph Stückelberger, in cooperation with leaders from churches and universities. The trainings are part of the Globethics.net African Church Assets Programme (ACAP),  which is a programme running from 2016-2018 supported by Bread for the World (Brot für die Welt) in Germany.
