On the 22 of August, The Catholic University of Eastern Africa (CUEA) held the 2018-2019 Academic year convocation ceremony at the main campus in Nairobi.
The event started at 0900 hours with Holy mass officiated by the chairman Kenya Conference of Catholic Bishops (KCCB) Commission for Education and Religious Education, Rt. Rev. Paul Kariuki Njiru.
In his convocation speech, the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Justus Mbae laid out the CUEA strategic transformation plan which is already being implemented across both the Academic and Administrative arms of the University. This, he said, "Will continue to focus on all aspects of our University with the aim of truly making CUEA a beacon of light in our region and continent." He emphasised that there is a lot to be done this academic year and in the years to come. He therefore noted that all that he highlighted in his speech will be implemented around and upon the Catholic Identity. The university identity, he clarified, stems from the CUEA Core values namely witness of life, prayer, truthfulness, honesty, excellence, commitment and competence.
