The Civic Chamber of the Russian Federation, a consultative civil society institution which analyses draft legislation and monitors the activities of the parliament, government and other government bodies of Russia and its Federal Subjects, met last 17 April 2019 in Moscow, Russia. Globethics.net President, Christoph Stückelberger, was invited to this meeting as a keynote speaker.
Stückelberger spoke about cyber ethics: the meaning of cyber ethics and the importance of balancing values to achieve 'Globalance'. Cybersecurity is one of the major concerns of Russian society. For this reason, it is significant Christoph intervention on the Civic Chamber, since this is a high-level body which can make recommendations to the Russian Government and Duma.
At the end of the event, Stückelberger had the opportunity to offer the President of the Civic Chamber of the Russian Federation, Valery Fadeyev, Globethics.net publication: 'Cyber Ethics 4.0: Serving Humanity with values'. This book aims to provide orientation on what is right and wrong, good and bad, related to the cyberspace. The authors from many countries and positions of international (UN) organisations apply and modify fundamental values and virtues to specific, new challenges arising from cyber technology and cyber society.
Beside visiting the Civic Chamber of the Russian Federation, Christoph Stueckelberger met with different state and private universities to present Globethics.net services and products on ethics in higher education.
