null Globethics Consortium Steering Meeting

Representatives of four Founding Member universities of the Globethics Consortium on Ethics in Higher Education took part for the first time in the Steering Committee meeting on 6 December 2017 in Geneva, Switzerland.

The Consortium, which was launched at the Inaugural Meeting in June 2017 in Geneva, has been led by an interim Steering Committee made up of experts in the field of education, members of the Globethics.net Board of Foundation and the President and Executive Director of Globethics.net.

The presence and participation for the first time at the meeting of the Founding Member universities from Kenya, Nigeria and South Africa as the principal stakeholders in the project marked an important milestone in the life of the new Consortium. On the Steering Committee agenda was the organisation of the delivery of training of trainers in the universities in 2018 starting in Kenya in March, the Global Ethics Forum focused on ethics in higher education from 20-22 June 2018 and the further development and implementation of the work plan and of products and services to Consortium members provided together with and through the Consortium pool of experts.

The Globethics Consortium on Ethics in Higher Education was formed to fulfil the following objectives:

  1. To support higher education institutions in their efforts to integrate values-based decision in governance, management and daily practice of staff, management and board;
  2. To support teachers / students  with tools and resources to think and act according to ethical values; and
