On Wednesday, 8 March, the Globethics.net team and global network are happy to mark International Women's Day.

 

The theme for International Women's Day 2017 focuses on: "Women in the Changing World of Work: Planet 50-50 by 2030".

 

This important annual event celebrates the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women of all nationalities and in all cultures and countries around the world. Here at Globethics, our vision and our work is dedicated to promote the practice of ethical values which promotes the empowerment of women and that all women of all ages, everywhere have access to quality education and development. 

 

In support of Women's Day 2017, Obiora Ike, Globethics.net Executive Director, shared this message:

 

"To build a nation, educate women. To have peace in the home and the State, place women at the dialogue table. To balance society with harmony, ensure that women are part of the agenda. 

 

Our women in Africa are like Mother Earth who sustain the environment, bear the burdens, build the homes, train the youth who serve the future; thus like the earth, women are the sustainable elements of creation.

 

The family is founded on the feminine principle where the masculine submits to the woman essentially as mothers even to their husbands."
