null New Globethics.net Board

The first meeting of 2017 of the Globethics.net Board of Foundation in Geneva from 24-25 March 2017 was attended by three new members – Pablo Gentili (Argentina), Ndidi Okonkwo Nwuneli (Nigeria) and Walter Linsi (Switzerland) – following the end of the terms of office of four Board members at the end of 2016 (a full list of current and former Board members and Senior Advisors is available at http://www.globethics.net/board-of-foundation).

In his opening reflection our President and Founder, Christoph Stückelberger gave each Board member a copy of the ‘Globethics.net Principles on Sharing Values', published in different languages in 2012. The 22 Principles are the result of a week-long conference in 2009 in Nairobi, Kenya on care and compassion and common values across cultures and religions. Dr Stückelberger stressed the importance of dialogue, and of action, of walking the talk.

On the agenda of the Board was approval of the Annual Report 2016, the annual audited accounts 2016 and updates on activities, including on the Consortium on Ethics in Higher Education and the first meeting of the Consortium planned for 21-23 June 2017 in Geneva, Switzerland.

Important also was the presentation and discussion of the Globethics.net Code of Ethics, the text of which will be made available as soon as it has been finalised. The next meeting of the Board is set to take place in Moscow, Russia from 3-5 November 2017.
