Save the dates January 30, 2018 - Webcast Series on Sustainability, Ethics and Action: What can we do?

Globethics.net in collaboration with CITVN has produced a webcast series on the reading of Pope Francis' environmental encyclical Laudato Si, which has been describe as a ‘worldwide wake up call to help humanity understand the destruction that man is rendering to the environment and his fellow man'.
We invite you to participate in this webcast series and to engage in the current discussion on what can be done to prevent the destruction of ecosystems that impact both human and non-human beings.
Over 36 weeks the webcast series will focus on different sections of the encyclical Laudato Si lead by 56 experts from churches, NGOs, businesses, governments and academia related to the environment and sustainability.
Globethics.net President and Founder, Christoph Stückelberger will be one of the keynote speakers starting the series on 30 January 2018 on the topic ‘Towards a Sustainable Development Paragim'. Other speakers include:
- Cardinal Peter Turkson, Prefect of the Dicastery for the Promotion of Integral Human Development Vatican
- Sanjoy Mukherjee, Rajiv Gandhi Indian Institute of Management, Shillong, India
- John Dominic Crossan, Ph.D., Emeritus Professor of Religious Studies, DePaul University, Chicago, Illinois and author of "The Historical Jesus".
- Guillermo Kerber, Ph.D., Theologian, Climate Justice, Club of Rome, World Council of Churches International Catholic Center of Geneva
The webcast will open with an introductory video on the section and will be followed by the presentation of two keynote speakers, experts on the theme, who will provide their knowledge and understanding. After each presentation, there will be a moderated virtual question and answer session with participants.
The broadcast of these sessions will start in 30 January 2018 and take place every Tuesday from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. EST.
