Day 1 - Handover ceremony. On Thursday 23 June 2016, an evening celebration with music, video clips, speeches, gift-giving and flowers marked the official handover from Walter Fust to Christoph Stückelberger as President of Globethics.net and from Dr Stückelberger to Obiora Ike as the New Executive Director, effective 1 July 2016.
The ceremony was a time for tributes, nostalgia and food for thought for the future.
Dr Stückelberger spoke about his ‘Globalance' dream and why his vision for a more equal world still energises him. As he transitions into the position of President of the Globethics.net Board, he will be less involved in the day-to-day work, placing his trust in Obiora Ike's leadership. He finished his address saying that, "The greatest thank I express as Calvin did here in Geneva, who always ended his speeches and publications with three words: Soli Deo Gloria, all glory belongs to God".

Dr Stückelberger's wife and three of their sons attended the event, bringing some joy to the proceedings by sharing family memories and suggestions on how he might usefully spend his retirement.
As for Obiora Ike, he shared his wishes for the team, for the mission of the organisation and for the friends and partners of Globethics.net. He started his speech and his opening reflection with the words "Omnia Tempus Habet, Everything has Its Time, Ihe Nine Nwere Oge Nke Ya".
Dr Hadsell from the Board led the ceremony. Walter Linsi and Cui Wantian longstanding supporters of Globethics.net and Ani Casimir, new Globethics.net National Contact Nigeria, paid tribute to Dr Stückelberger's work. They were followed by Sr Mary Gloria C.Njoku who announced on behalf of Prof. Christian Anieke, Founder and Vice-Chancellor of the Godfroy Okoye University in Nigeria Dr Stückelberger's appointment as a professor at the university.
