null GlobeTheoLib Consortium Committee 2016

The international Consortium, the governing body of the Global Digital Library on Theology and Ecumenism, also known as GlobeTheoLib, will meet from 9-10 September 2016 in Geneva, at the Globethics.net Head Office five years after its launch in September 2011.

GlobeTheoLib, a joint project of the World Council of Churches and Globethics.net, is a free online library hosted on the Globethics.net platform that provides theological resources for education and ecumenical dialogue.

Future developments, strategic objectives for the coming years (2017-2020), and improvements to the online library and portal for ecumenical theological information, research and education are on the table for discussion during the Consortium meeting with the aim that GlobeTheoLib be "fully ecumenical, global and sustainable".

Representatives of Christian world communions, theological education institutions and networks, theological library associations, and mission agencies from Asia, Africa, Latin America, Central and Eastern Europe, as well as supporting partners and guests will take part in the September 2016 Consortium meeting.

The 5th anniversary of GlobeTheoLib will be marked during the meeting with the launch of a new collection on "Eco-Theology, Climate Justice and Food Security" together with a book published in the Globethics.net Global series containing presentations and a report of the international consultation on the same subject held at the Academy of Volos, Demetriades Diocese of Church of Greece, 10-13 March, 2016.

The launch of the collection and of the book will be open to the public and takes place on Friday 9 September from 12.45-13.30 at the Ecumenical Centre.
