Meine Träume zu Kirchenfinanzen and Kirchenentwicklung in Deutschland

Johannes Hoffmann: Meine Träume zu Kirchenfinanzen and Kirchenentwicklung in Deutschland

Author: Johannes Hoffmann

ISBN: 978-2-88931-296-2
Series number: Globethics.net Focus No. 52
Publication: 2019

Holiness as Wholeness: Ethical Implications towards an Inclusive Understanding of the HIV / AIDS Crisis in Kenya

James Eroni Miriago: Holiness as Wholeness: Ethical Implications towards an Inclusive Understanding of the HIV / AIDS Crisis in Kenya

Author: James Eroni Miriago

ISBN: 978-2-88931-298-6
Series number: Globethics.net Focus No. 53
Publication: 2019

This study presents a critical examination of holiness as wholeness – ethical implications towards an inclusive understanding of the HIV/AIDS crisis in Kenya. The understanding of holiness and its interpretation has contributed to the stigmatisation of those infected and affected by HIV and AIDS. The study calls for a theologically based re-interpretation of holiness, firstly, by evaluating and interpreting a Pentecostals understanding of HIV and AIDS and its effects on stigma and discrimination; secondly, it aims to assess how the doctrine of holiness as wholeness is challenged by the impact of HIV and AIDS in the Redeemed Gospel Church (RGC), a concrete Pentecostal church in East Africa; and thirdly, it aims to propose a new approach to the doctrine of holiness as wholeness, which could be applied in the Pentecostal African context globally.

Bioética de las enfermedades tropicales desatendidas

Bioética de las enfermedades tropicales desatendidas

Author: Fernando J. Andrade Narváez

ISBN: 978-2-88931-276-4
Series number: Globethics.net Focus No. 48
Publication: 2019

Author: Jonathan Kashindi Mulolwa

ISBN: 978-2-88931-254-2
Series number: Globethics.net Focus Series No. 47
Publication: 2018

This book focuses on the ethics, governance and performance of the decentralized territorial entities in Bukavu, eastern Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). The author argues that this theme is highly strategic for a "post-conflict" country, which aspires to consolidate political ethics, democracy and good governance.

Ética y economía: la relación dañada

Editors: Cristina Calvo / Humberto Shikiya / Deivit Montealegre

ISBN: 978-2-88931-199-6
Series number: Globethics.net Focus No. 43
Publication: 2017

Contributions on the way to the G-20 2018 within the framework of the 2030 agenda. "High-level dialogue on international financial architecture: ethics and economics". Ecoeconomics and the economy of the global common good, structural inequalities and protection of work, financing of crime and public and private corruption, corporate social responsibility and financing for the development of countries and people. Each of these points has a strong impact on the lives of nations and people. Ethics is often absent in many of the activities that take place in the world and also in our own public policies. Any analysis of the international financial system and its preponderance over the productive sectors, on the implementation of economic models away from the real interests of their recipients, as well as policies that do not meet needs and poverty due to lack of resources, highlights the absence of elements of justice, ethics, to achieve resources necessary to find the indispensable equitable solutions. This multidisciplinary debate wants to be a contribution to this process.

CSR Report on Chinese Business Overseas Operations

Author: Florian Josef Hoffmann

ISBN: 978-2-88931-224-5
Series number: Globethics.net Focus No. 42
Publication: 2018

The title of the book promises ‘welfare for all'. Of course, that does not mean luxury for all. No, that would be an endless waste that cannot be in anyone's interest. What is meant is something realistic, namely a reasonably fair participation of all people in the infinite and indescribable wealth of our God-given world. Each person, without exception, can be empowered as a human being to lead a self-determined, decent life, ‘prospering to freedom'. The basic idea is simple: the more people there are on earth, the more capable humanity is to make meaningful contributions to a meaningful whole. Motivated human resources are available on a massive scale.

Search for Non-Violent and People-Centric Development

Author: John M. Itty

ISBN: 978-2-88931-185-9
Series number: Globethics.net Focus No. 41
Publication: 2017

Market-centric development is not only unjust, inequitable, unsustainable, but also violent. The end of development-aggressive consumption, and the means—aggressive production, trade and accumulation—make development anti-people. The more marketable wealth is produced, the more ill-fare is brought instead of welfare. Financialisation of the economy and neglect of the ecology bring financial and ecological crises. Neglect of non-marketable wealth, like love, caring, sharing, concern for others and social/cultural capital, are the reasons for this malady. Only people-centric development that fosters production of non-marketable wealth along with marketable wealth can promote welfare. In this book, the author, highlights the importance for reducing production of wealth with negative utility, the need to foster spirituality of development, and suggests a few non-market programmes to promote people-centric development.

Author: Kahwa Njojo

ISBN: 978-2-88931-162-0
Series number: Globethics.net Focus No. 40
Publication: 2017

ISBN: 978-2-88931-183-5
Series number: Globethics.net Focus No. 39
Publication: 2017

Religious Studies in Indonesia as a full-fledged discipline has a long precedence, at least since 1970s, but found its momentum after the reformation of 1998. The two institutions provided Master and Doctoral program and researches on Religious Studies. In commemoration to the tenth anniversary of ICRS in 2016, eight alumni contributed part of their research project in the present volume, in order to provide a glimpse of the shift and issues addressed in the discipline at the present day Indonesia. One contribution from the Philippines emphasised further the dynamic of the studies in the region.

Ética y solidaridad: Perspectivas históricas y normativas

Author: Edison Paul Tabra Ochoa

ISBN:978-2-88931-175-0
Series number: Globethics.net Focus No. 38
Publication: 2017

This work assumes the challenge of apprehending an idea as multifaceted as that of solidarity. To do this, in addition to carrying out a complete study of the different views that have been offered of the term, we choose the right strategy to break down its content. The proposal manages to integrate in a single concept the objective approach (as a duty or principle), contractual content, with the subjective vision (as virtue and attitude), human development factor. This is, according to the author, the only way to guarantee the essential goal of solidarity: the common good and the reduction of inequalities in society due to the lack of means of compliance or the tendency to conform.

Series number:Globethics.net Focus No. 37

Congo

Author: Bosco Muchukiwa

ISBN: 978-2-88931-112-5
Series number: Globethics.net Focus No. 34
Publication: 2016
