The development of the African legal system is at the core of this work, which aims at explaining the relationship between political, social and cultural rights and the African Charter of the Rights of Men and Peoples. Assessing the impact of the African Charter supposes a precise description of how national regimes contribute to the human rights. Prior to the Charter, civil and political rights were more important than socio-economic and cultural rights. It is the theoretical and practical aim of this book to show the evolution of this situation. Dr Eze shows that the primary responsibility of national institutions and agents of law enforcement is as important, in the management of human and peoples 'rights, as the input of the regional courts or the mandate of the Commission on Human and Peoples' Rights.

- Abstract:
Little is known about the interaction of customary law and disability rights. This research based on a case study in Uganda offers a window into how a customary legal frameworks can impact the status, rights and treatment of persons with disabilities. Dr Dennison highlights the particular importance of cultural beliefs and attitudes about the capacity and functionality of persons with disabilities in informal legal settings. This is true in the Eastern African context of the Mukono District, in the Central Region of Uganda, but also more widely on the whole African continent. The work concludes by outlining practical change strategies for those seeking to improve the status, rights and treatment of persons with disabilities in settings where customary law plays an influential and effectual role.

This book explores Christian mission and the Mbuti Pygmies, a sub-group of Central African Pygmies who are mostly forest dwellers. The Pygmies are often still unseen and discriminated against, and as consequence, still remain unreached and unchurched. The missional encounter to reach and minister to the invisible is the key focus of this research. In order to minister to this population, this book proposes that mission among and for Pygmies should be conceived and practiced in the light of new paradigms in relation to the concept of conversion. Theological education should be a holistic Christ-like approach to reach and minister to the invisible.
