Abstract:
"Sustainable Development" is the goal 2015-2030 of the global community of states, adopted by the United Nations. This book shows how ecology, economy and ethics are all needed to reach these goals. Understanding a concept like ‘sustainability' requires an understanding not only of what we are seeking to ‘sustain', but also how man's activities and needs are implicated in and can threaten the future of these biological systems. The articles in this book come from one of the key countries of the world, India, whose population represents almost 20% of the world's population. Questions surrounding economic development and environmental sustainability are fundamental to understanding the country's future, and how it will tackle difficult issues, like the eradication of poverty.

Abstract:
As global ethics emerges as an important answer to the common issues facing humankind, we cannot spare a reflection on the process leading to a consensus on global values. Abstract:
Religions influence all sectors of society. To a great extent, this is true for the Protestant Genevan Reformer John Calvin (1509-1564) with his global influence and impact. His work is still highly relevant to today's economy. In his writings he emphasized on equitable markets and fair interests. In politics, he was an early door-opener for democracy, and he approached science with an open minded curiosity. His ethics is deeply rooted in his faith in the merciful and guiding Christian God. All human efforts should serve the Glory of God.
