Abstract:

Abstract:
This book is concerned by the effectiveness of a limited number of cardinal virtues that great religions have in common with philosophical ethics, and the author uses philosophy as a practical aim for better inviting value- and reason-oriented actions. Based on the virtue of hope, the author thinks the very essence of fair conditions for education as transformative education. Deriving from the virtue of justice, we find a firm foundation for peace research and reconciliation programmes. Courage and productivity are, in a judicious manner, related to the value of work. Trust, the virtue of love and common good are matters of the management of natural and economic resources. As we discover each chapter after the other, the whole work is revealed to be grounded on a hierarchy of virtues.

Abstract:
This book on the topic of ethics and poetry consists of contributions from different continents on the subject of applied ethics related to poetry. It should gather a favourable reception from philosophers, ethicists, theologians and anthropologists from Africa, Asia, Europe and Latin America and allows for a comparison of the healing power of words from various religious, spiritual and philosophical traditions. The first part of this book presents original poems that express ethical emotions and aphorism related to a philosophical questioning of the grounding of our values for life. The poems are written by twelve authors coming from four continents, for whom poetic emotions are sources of artistic inspiration and that can be used for conflict resolution. In the second part, which features short essays, nine authors tackle how poems, symbolic representations, metaphorical narratives and lies impact the space of possibilities, in which we are moved to action, knowledge formation, and how we imagine the world together. Abstract:
'Ethics of Inclusion and Equality', in two volumes, is a reader of 58 articles from the author on all areas of social and political life. Vol. 1 features articles on the themes of ‘Politics and Society'; Vol. 2 includes the authors insight on ‘Economy and Environment', ‘Education, Children and Sexuality', and ‘Religion and Tolerance'. Each Section underpins India's political economy, where India is taken as a referral point for analysis and interpretation. The literature reflects a trend sweeping the world as of 2018: the success of far-right conservative politics as a reaction to liberal appeasement politics, identity politics and the rejection of multiculturalism. The author address these issues in a direct, often devastating, fashion.

Abstract:
Churches in Africa have vast assets: agricultural land and prime land in cities, real estate in schools, universities, hospitals, churches etc. How can these institutions become less dependent on donations by increasing revenue from these assets? Theological visions, ethical values, planning skills, integrity leadership, fair elections, professional governing structures, anti-corruption mechanisms, innovative strategies and investment partnerships are needed to aid such developments. This handbook offers conceptual knowledge, practical solutions and case studies, written by practitioners for practitioners in churches: pastors/priests, leaders, finance officers, asset managers, donor agencies, students and all those engaged for professional, innovative, efficient and faith-based asset management of churches and church-related organisations.

Abstract:
The international conference of the University of Nigeria, held in 2016, made it clear that education must assist and lead students to learn to be free, responsible, innovative and creative. The teacher has the duty to guide students to know how to acquire knowledge that is not mere information but knowledge that is reflected, offering essential insights needed for effective living—such knowledge bears the ingredients of ethics. This first of two book volumes serves as a guide providing insights gained through experience from 29 authors, including teachers, administrators and policy makers and researchers, all brought together to focus on how Ethics in Higher Education can be integrated into concrete contexts.

Abstract:
The coexistence and mutual influence of politics and the economy is an everyday reality in modern societies. A Christian perspective on this relationship speaks to the inseparability of ethics and economy, and also to the necessity of dialogue between theology and politics. Engagement in these issues is an important public role and responsibility for churches and Christian theology. The public role of religion in Europe in this current context includes highlighting the core values of Christianity. Of special import in this regard are justice and freedom, how they are exercised in life, and a focus on other values that have undergirded the European project since its beginning. This text turns its attention to a robust theological discussion of these ideas and the challenges facing the flourishing of these values in Europe. It is a unique ecumenical, European contribution to the wider discussion on the complex intersection of theology, ethics, politics, and the economy.
